Utilization Control & Scheduling Management to Increase Patient Satisfaction

Melissa Couty
Melissa Couty

HHCAP scores have connected Home Health care delivery to Patient Satisfaction results as a means of demonstrating the value of in-home services. These scores are affected by a number of factors, but HH clients and family member satisfaction serves as a valid guide to measure value and service quality. A primary factor in satisfaction scores are the content of the HH program that relate directly to Star Rating measurements; timely Start of Care, maintenance of visit schedules, education and program delivery that addresses patient clinical needs, etc. This progressive presentation reviews how many agencies adopt a HH Utilization Control model to resolve these concerns that affect Patient Satisfaction outcomes.

Please join us for the second part of a two-part series as we look at key Clinical and Functional OASIS items that are used for both payment and quality measures. But then your quality of care measures are used to create your data for the Home Health Compare website including your Star Ratings. Your quality of care measures are also a key component of CMS’s plan for Value-Based Purchasing payment adjustments. When we all understand OASIS the same way, the results are reliable and everyone benefits.
